New in Allison: Set custom billing schedules, combine multiple cleanings into one invoice, and automate payment reminders.

Not every customer wants to be billed the same way.
Some residential customers expect to pay after every cleaning. Others prefer one invoice at the end of the week. And if you clean commercial properties, you've probably encountered customers who need a single monthly invoice with payment terms like Net 15 or Net 30.
The challenge is that your cleaning schedule and your billing schedule don't always line up.
You might clean a customer's office twice a week but only invoice them once a month. Or you might have several residential clients who pay immediately after each visit, alongside a handful of commercial accounts with entirely different billing arrangements.
Keeping track of those differences can turn invoicing into a surprisingly manual process.
We're introducing major updates to invoicing in Allison that give you more control over how and when your customers are billed.
You can now set custom billing schedules, automatically combine multiple jobs into one invoice, offer flexible payment terms, and automate payment reminders.
Let's take a closer look.
Bill Customers on Their Schedule, Not Just Yours
One of the biggest improvements is the ability to separate when a cleaning takes place from when the customer is invoiced.
Previously, Allison's invoicing workflow centered on individual cleaning jobs. Now you have the flexibility to choose a billing schedule that works for each customer.
You can configure invoices to be billed:
After each cleaning: Bill customers individually as each cleaning is completed.
Weekly or every two weeks: Choose a specific day of the week, such as every Friday or every other Monday.
Twice a month: Bill on the 1st and 15th, or the 15th and last day of each month.
Monthly: Select your preferred billing day, such as the 1st, 15th, or last day of every month.
Manually: Keep control over when invoices are billed rather than following an automatic billing schedule.
For example, imagine you clean a local office every Monday and Thursday, but the customer wants to receive one invoice on the 1st and 15th of each month.
You can now configure that billing arrangement directly in Allison.
Meanwhile, your residential customers can continue being billed after every cleaning, just as they were before.
And because billing terms can be configured at the individual customer level, you don't have to change how your entire business operates to accommodate one customer's requirements.
Automatically Combine Multiple Cleanings Into One Invoice
This is an especially useful improvement for cleaning companies that perform multiple services for the same customer during a billing period.
Consider a commercial customer whose office you clean every week.
Over the course of a month, you might complete four standard cleanings and one additional deep cleaning.
Instead of generating five separate invoices, Allison can automatically combine those completed jobs into one scheduled invoice.
Here's what that might look like:
Service | Amount |
|---|---|
October 2: Standard cleaning | $250 |
October 9: Standard cleaning | $250 |
October 16: Standard cleaning | $250 |
October 23: Standard cleaning | $250 |
October 28: Deep cleaning | $400 |
Total monthly invoice | $1,400 |
Illustrative example. Actual amounts depend on your services and pricing.
All five cleanings are accounted for, but the customer receives one invoice for the billing period rather than a separate invoice for each visit.
As eligible jobs are completed, they're added to the customer's scheduled invoice.
You can review the invoice before its billing date, see the individual jobs included, and make adjustments when needed.
And if you need to bill the customer sooner, you can open the scheduled invoice and select Bill Now.
Why this matters for growing cleaning businesses
As your business grows, you may start serving customers who have very different accounting requirements.
A homeowner might pay immediately after their cleaning. A property manager might expect an invoice every Friday. A larger commercial client might require all services to be consolidated into one monthly bill.
Your invoicing process needs to accommodate those arrangements without forcing you to manually combine every charge.
With scheduled and batch invoicing, Allison helps keep your completed jobs and customer billing connected.
Offer Flexible Payment Terms, Including Net 15 and Net 30
When you send an invoice and when your customer needs to pay it aren't necessarily the same thing.
That's especially true for commercial cleaning.
An office, medical facility, or property management company may operate on payment terms that allow them a certain number of days to process an invoice.
Allison now supports the following payment terms:
Due on receipt
Net 7
Net 10
Net 15
Net 30
Net 45
Net 60
These settings determine how long the customer has to pay after the invoice is issued.
An example: Monthly invoicing with Net 30
Let's say you have a commercial customer who receives several cleanings throughout October.
You agree to send one invoice on October 31, with payment due in 30 days.
In Allison, you'd configure:
Billing schedule: Monthly, on the last day of the month
Payment terms: Net 30
Allison groups the eligible completed cleanings into a scheduled invoice and applies the configured payment terms when it's billed.
The customer receives one invoice for the billing period, with payment due according to the agreed terms.
And because billing schedules and payment terms are separate settings, you can offer different combinations depending on what each customer needs.
A weekly customer could have Net 7 terms. A monthly customer could have Net 15. Your residential customers could continue paying on receipt.
Let Allison Handle Payment Reminders
Sending invoices is only part of the work. Making sure customers pay them can require just as much attention.
You send an invoice, the customer gets busy, and the payment deadline passes. Before long, you're looking through outstanding invoices and deciding who needs another reminder.
Allison now gives you more flexibility to automate those follow-ups.

Reminders before payment is due
You can configure Allison to send a reminder:
1 day before the invoice is due
3 days before the invoice is due
7 days before the invoice is due
Reminders can be sent by email, SMS, or both, and you can customize the message customers receive.
For example, if a customer has Net 15 terms, you could have Allison send a reminder three days before the invoice is due.
Reminders for overdue invoices
You can also configure automatic follow-ups after the payment deadline has passed.
Choose to send reminders every day, every two days, every three days, or every week. You can also set a maximum number of reminders, up to 10.
This gives you a more consistent process for following up on unpaid invoices, without having to manually remember every due date.

More Control Over How Your Invoices Look
Alongside the new billing schedules and payment terms, Allison also includes additional invoice customization options.
Custom invoice prefixes
You can add a custom prefix to your invoice numbers.
For example, if your cleaning company is called Smith Cleaning Services, you might choose SCS as your prefix.
Allison will apply your prefix along with its generated invoice number.
Optional itemized pricing
Some customers want a simple invoice. Others want to see the details of every charge.
You can choose whether customer-facing invoices show itemized pricing, including charges such as add-ons and adjustments.
This gives you more flexibility when working with customers who prefer different levels of detail.
One Cleaning Business, Different Billing Needs
Here's how the new invoicing options could work across a cleaning company that serves a mix of customers.
Customer | Billing Schedule | Payment Terms |
|---|---|---|
Residential homeowner | After each cleaning | Due on receipt |
Office cleaned twice per week | Every Friday | Net 7 |
Commercial property | Last day of the month | Net 15 |
Property management customer | Last day of the month | Net 30 |
The important part is that you don't have to manage every customer the same way.
You can establish default invoice settings for your business, then customize billing and payment terms for customers who need something different.
And when those customers have multiple completed jobs within a billing period, Allison can bring them together into a scheduled invoice.
Your Cleaning Schedule and Billing Schedule, Working Together
For a growing cleaning business, flexibility becomes increasingly important.
You may have more cleaners, more recurring jobs, more customers, and more billing arrangements to manage.
But accommodating different customer requirements shouldn't mean creating more administrative work.
With these invoicing improvements, Allison gives you a way to:
Schedule invoices weekly, monthly, or after individual cleanings.
Combine multiple completed jobs into one invoice.
Configure customer-specific payment terms.
Automatically remind customers about upcoming and overdue payments.
Customize invoice details to better fit your business.
And because invoicing is connected to the jobs you're already managing in Allison, you don't have to manually rebuild an invoice from a separate cleaning schedule.
The goal is simple: Give you more control over how you bill your customers, without adding more work to your day.
